Component Function Check

CHECK HAZARD SWITCH SIGNAL

CONSULT

1. Ignition switch ON.

2. Select “HAZARD SW” in “Data Monitor” mode of “BCM(FLASHER)”.

3. While operating the hazard switch, check the monitor status.

   Monitor item	Condition		Monitor status
   HAZARD SW	Hazard switch	ON	On
   		OFF	Off

Is the inspection result normal?

Hazard switch circuit is normal.

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

CHECK HAZARD SWITCH SIGNAL INPUT

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect hazard switch connector.

3. Check voltage between hazard switch connector and ground.

   (+)		(−)	Voltage (Approx.)
   Hazard switch
   Connector	Terminal
   M83	2	Ground	Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 4.

GO TO 2.

CHECK HAZARD SWITCH SIGNAL (OPEN) CIRCUIT

1. Disconnect BCM connector.

2. Check continuity between hazard switch harness connector and BCM harness connector.

   Hazard switch		BCM		Continuity
   Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
   M83	2	M18	36	Yes

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 3.

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK HAZARD SWITCH SIGNAL (SHORT) CIRCUIT

Check continuity between hazard switch harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK HAZARD SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between hazard switch harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

Replace hazard switch. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Repair or replace harness.
