Component Function Check

CHECK FRONT FOG LAMP OPERATION

CONSULT

  1. Select “EXTERNAL LAMPS” in “Active Test” mode of “IPDM E/R”.

  2. While operating the test items, check that the front fog lamp is turned ON.

    Fog : Front fog lamp ON
    Off : Front fog lamp OFF

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Front fog lamp circuit is normal.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK FRONT FOG LAMP FUSE

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check that the following fuse is not blown:

    Front fog lamp IPDM E/R 49 15 A

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Replace the blown fuse after repairing the affected circuit.

CHECK FRONT FOG LAMP OUTPUT VOLTAGE

CONSULT

  1. Disconnect front fog lamp connector.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select “EXTERNAL LAMPS” in “Active Test” mode of “IPDM E/R”.

  4. While operating the test items, check the voltage between front fog lamp LH harness connector, front fog lamp RH harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

GO TO 3.

CHECK FRONT FOG LAMP POWER SUPPLY (SHORT) CIRCUIT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect applicable front fog lamp connector and IPDM E/R connector.

  3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

    IPDM E/R Continuity

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK FRONT FOG LAMP POWER SUPPLY (OPEN) CIRCUIT

Check continuity between front fog lamp LH harness connector, front fog lamp RH harness connector and IPDM E/R harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK FRONT FOG LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between front fog lamp LH harness connector, front fog lamp RH harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace front fog lamp. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.
