DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Shift lock solenoid

• Harness or connector

• Shift lock solenoid circuit is open or shorted

• Stop lamp switch

FAIL-SAFE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

1. Ignition switch ON.

2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “BCM”.

Is DTC detected?

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

Shift lock solenoid is OK.

CHECK POWER SOURCE (STOP LAMP SWITCH)

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect stop lamp switch connector.

3. Check voltage between stop lamp switch connector and ground.

   Stop lamp switch		Ground	Voltage (Approx.)
   Connector	Terminal
   E38	1		Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 2.

Check the following:

• Harness for short or open between fuse block (J/B) and stop lamp switch

• 10A fuse (No. 10, located in fuse block [J/B])

CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH

Check stop lamp switch. Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 3.

Replace stop lamp switch. Refer to Exploded View.

CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT (BCM)

1. Disconnect BCM connector.

2. Check continuity between BCM connector and ground.

   BCM		Ground	Continuity

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 4.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN BCM AND STOP LAMP SWITCH FOR OPEN

Check continuity between BCM connector and stop lamp switch connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 5.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN BCM AND STOP LAMP SWITCH FOR SHORT CIRCUIT

Check continuity between BCM connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 6.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN BCM AND CVT SHIFT SELECTOR FOR OPEN

1. Disconnect CVT shift selector connector.

2. Check continuity between BCM and CVT shift selector.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 7.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN BCM AND CVT SHIFT SELECTOR FOR SHORT CIRCUIT

Check continuity between BCM and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 8.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT (CVT SHIFT SELECTOR)

Check continuity between CVT shift selector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

Replace shift lock solenoid. Refer to Exploded View.

Repair or replace damaged parts.
