DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

NOTE:

  • If DTC B2602 is displayed with DTC U1000, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC U1000. Refer to DTC Description.

  • If DTC B2602 is displayed with DTC U1010, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC U1010. Refer to DTC Description.

BCM detects the following status for 10 seconds:

  • Selector lever is in the P (Park) position

  • Nissan Murano Vehicle speed is 2.5 MPH (4 km/h) or more

  • Ignition switch ON position

Diagnosis delay time

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors

    (CAN communication line is open or shorted.)

  • Harness or connectors

    [CVT shift selector (detent switch) circuit is open or shorted.]

  • CVT shift selector (detent switch)

  • Combination meter

  • BCM

FAIL-SAFE

DTC Confirmation Procedure

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

  1. Start engine.

  2. Drive Nissan Murano vehicle at a speed of 2.5 MPH (4 km/h) or more for 10 seconds or more.

  3. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “BCM”.

  4. Check DTC.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

Inspection End.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK CVT SHIFT SELECTOR SWITCH FUNCTION

CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Select “DETE/CANCL SW” and “VEH SPEED 1” in “Data Monitor” mode of “BCM(INTELLIGENT KEY)”.

  3. Check “DETE/CANCL SW” and “VEH SPEED 1” indication under the following conditions:

    Monitor item Condition Indication
    DETE/CANCL SW CVT Shift selector In any position other than P (Park) ON
    P (Park) OFF
    VEH SPEED 1 Nissan Murano Vehicle not moving 0 V
    Vehicle moving Varies

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

If “DETE/CANCL SW” is incorrect. GO TO 4.

NO>>

If “VEH SPEED 1” is incorrect. GO TO 2.

CHECK DTC OF COMBINATION METER

CONSULT

Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “METER_M&A”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform the trouble diagnosis related to the detected DTC. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>

GO TO 3.

CHECK DTC OF ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT)

CONSULT

Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ABS”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform the trouble diagnosis related to the detected DTC. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>

GO TO 6.

CHECK CVT SHIFT SELECTOR (DETENT SWITCH) CIRCUIT

  1. Disconnect BCM connector, CVT shift selector (detent switch) and IPDM E/R connector E119.

  2. Check continuity between CVT shift selector (detent switch) harness connector and BCM harness connector.

  3. Check continuity between CVT shift selector (detent switch) harness connector and ground.

    CVT shift selector (detent switch) Ground Continuity

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK CVT SHIFT SELECTOR (DETENT SWITCH)

Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 6.

NO>>

Replace CVT shift selector. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to Intermittent Incident.

Inspection End.

Component Inspection

CHECK CVT SHIFT SELECTOR (DETENT SWITCH)

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect CVT shift selector (detent switch) connector.

  3. Check continuity between CVT shift selector (detent switch) terminals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Replace CVT shift selector. Refer to Removal and Installation.
