DTC Description

DESCRIPTION

DTC B00A0 OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS)

The OCS control unit is wired to the air bag diagnosis sensor unit. The air bag diagnosis sensor unit will monitor the OCS for failures and interruptions in communication between the OCS control unit and the air bag diagnosis sensor unit.

  2. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  3. Check the DTC.

Is the DTC detected?

YES>>

(Current DTC) Refer to:

  • B00A0-00, -02 or -09: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-00, -02 or -09).

  • B00A0-04: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-04).

  • B00A0-83, -86, -87, -88 or -8F: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-83, -86, -87, -88 or -8F).

  • B00A0-93: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-93).

YES>>

(Past DTC) GO TO 2.

NO>>

Inspection End.

ERASE SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT

CONSULT

Erase the DTC.

Can the DTC be erased?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

  • B00A0-04: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-04).

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Check the air bag warning lamp status. Refer to SRS Operation Check.

NOTE:

SRS does not enter the diagnosis mode if no malfunction is detected in the user mode.

Is the DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to:

  • B00A0-00, -02 or -09: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-00, -02 or -09).

  • B00A0-04: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-04).

  • B00A0-83, -86, -87, -88 or -8F: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-83, -86, -87, -88 or -8F).

  • B00A0-93: DTC Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-93).

NO>>

Inspection End.

Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-00, -02 or -09)

WARNING:

  • Before servicing, ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal, and wait at least 3 minutes or more. (To discharge backup capacitor.)

  • Never use unspecified tester or other measuring device.

HARNESS CONNECTOR

Visually inspect all applicable harness connectors for the following:

  • Visible damage to connector or terminal

  • Loose terminal

  • Poor connection

    NOTE:

    All harness connectors should be inspected from the air bag diagnosis sensor unit to the end component (including any in-line connectors)

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Perform the following repairs. Then, GO TO 2.

  • Visible damage: Replace the harness.

  • Loose terminal: Secure the terminal.

  • Poor connection: Secure the connection.

CONFIRM DTC

CONSULT

  1. Reconnect all harness connectors.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

REPLACE OCS CONTROL UNIT AND SENSORS

CONSULT

  1. Replace the OCS control unit and sensors. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT

CONSULT

  1. Replace the air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

RELATED HARNESS

CONSULT

  1. Replace the related harnesses (OCS sensors to OCS control unit, OCS control unit to seat, seat to main harness, main harness to air bag diagnosis sensor unit).

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 6.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

REPLACE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION FRAME

CONSULT

  1. Replace the passenger seat cushion frame. Refer to Seat Cushion.

  2. Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-04)

WARNING:

  • Before servicing, ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal, and wait at least 3 minutes or more. (To discharge backup capacitor.)

  • Never use unspecified tester or other measuring device.

HARNESS CONNECTOR

Visually inspect all applicable harness connectors for the following:

  • Visible damage to connector or terminal

  • Loose terminal

  • Poor connection

    NOTE:

    All harness connectors should be inspected from the air bag diagnosis sensor unit to the end component (including any in-line connectors)

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Perform the following repairs. Then, GO TO 2.

  • Visible damage: Replace the harness.

  • Loose terminal: Secure the terminal.

  • Poor connection: Secure the connection.

CONFIRM DTC

CONSULT

  1. Reconnect all harness connectors.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

REPLACE OCS CONTROL UNIT

CONSULT

  1. Replace the OCS control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT

CONSULT

  1. Replace the air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

RELATED HARNESS

  1. Replace the related harnesses (OCS sensors to OCS control unit, OCS control unit to seat, seat to main harness, main harness to air bag diagnosis sensor unit)

REPLACE OCS SENSORS

  1. Replace the OCS sensors. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 7.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

REPLACE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION FRAME

CONSULT

  1. Replace the passenger seat cushion frame. Refer to Seat Cushion.

  2. Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

Diagnosis Procedure (B00A0-83, -86, -87, -88 or -8F)

WARNING:

AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT

CONSULT

  1. Replace the air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Clear DTC. Inspection End.

HARNESS CONNECTOR

Visually inspect all applicable harness connectors for the following:

YES>>

  1. Replace the air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AIR BAG".

  4. Check for DTC.

Is DTC still current?

YES>>

GO TO 6.

NO>>

Clear DTC and perform zero point reset. Refer to Description.
