PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following before conducting the next test.
Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
Turn ignition switch ON.
Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
TESTING CONDITION:
This test may be conducted with the drive wheels lifted in the shop or by driving the Nissan Murano vehicle. If a road test is expected to be easier, it is unnecessary to lift the vehicle.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
With CONSULT
Wait until engine coolant temperature is less than 96°C (205°F)
Turn ignition switch ON.
Select “DATA MONITOR” mode with CONSULT.
Check the engine coolant temperature.
If the engine coolant temperature is not less than 96°C (205°F), turn ignition switch OFF and cool down engine.
NOTE:
Perform the following steps before engine coolant temperature is above 96°C (205°F).
Turn ignition switch ON.
Select “DATA MONITOR” mode with CONSULT.
Start engine.
Hold Nissan Murano vehicle speed at more than 70 km/h (43 MPH) for 100 consecutive seconds.
CAUTION:
Always drive Nissan Murano vehicle at a safe speed.
Check 1st trip DTC.
With GST
Follow the procedure “With CONSULT” above.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Check intake air temperature sensor. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>INSPECTION END
NO>>Replace mass air flow sensor (with intake air temperature sensor).
CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect mass air flow sensor harness connector.
Check resistance between mass air flow sensor terminals as per the following.
| Mass air flow sensor | Condition | Resistance (kΩ) | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| + | − | |||
| Terminals | ||||
| 4 | 2 | Temperature [°C (°F)] | 25 (77) | 1.800 - 2.200 |
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>INSPECTION END
NO>>Replace mass air flow sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Your vehicle has two types of security systems:
Vehicle security system NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer SystemThe vehicle security system provides visual and audible alarm signals if someone opens the doors, liftgate or the hood when the system is armed. It is not, however, a motion detection type system that activates when a vehicle is moved or when a vibration occurs.
