DESCRIPTION
CAN COMMUNICATION
CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication line for real-time applications. It is an on-Nissan Murano vehicle multiplex communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. Modern Nissan Murano vehicles are equipped with many electronic control units, and each control unit shares information and links with other control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with 2 communication lines (CAN-H, CAN-L), allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring. Each control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads the required data only.

ITS COMMUNICATION
ITS communication is a multiplex communication system. This enables the system to transmit and receive large quantities of data at high speed by connecting plural units with 2 communication lines.
ITS communication lines adopt twisted-pair line style (two lines twisted) for noise immunity.

The following systems are canceled:
Blind Spot Warning (BSW)
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
CONSULT
Start the engine.
Turn the Blind Spot Warning system ON.
Select “All DTC Reading” mode.
Check if “U1000-01” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “Side radar (Rear right)”.
Is “U1000-01” detected?
YES>>Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT
CONSULT
Start the engine.
Turn the Blind Spot Warning system ON, and then wait for 30 seconds or more.
Select “ALL DTC Reading” mode.
Check if “U1000-01” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “Side radar (Rear right)”.
Is “U1000-01” detected?
YES>>Refer to Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

Driver’s side
The knee air bag is located in the knee bolster, on the driver’s and passenger’s side. All of the information, cautions and warnings in this manual apply and must be followed. The knee air bag is designed to inflate in higher severity frontal collisions, although it may inflate if the forces in another type of collision are similar to those of a higher severity frontal impact. It may not inflate in certain collisions.
