Nissan Murano: Dtc/circuit Diagnosis / Parking Brake Switch
CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH OPERATION
Check that brake warning lamp in combination meter turns ON/OFF when parking brake is operated.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Inspection End.
NO>>Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.
CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT
-
Ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect parking brake switch harness connector.
-
Disconnect combination meter harness connector.
-
Check the continuity between parking brake switch harness connector and combination meter harness connector.
Parking brake switch Combination meter Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal E52 1 M24 26 Yes -
Check the continuity between parking brake switch harness connector and ground.
Parking brake switch — Continuity Connector Terminal E52 1 Ground No
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH
Check the parking brake switch. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>Replace the parking brake switch. Refer to Exploded View.
CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH SIGNAL
CONSULT
-
Select “PKB SW” in “Data Monitor” mode of “METER/M&A”.
-
Check that the function operates normally according to the following conditions:
Condition Data Monitor Operate parking brake On Release parking brake Off
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Inspection End.
NO>>GO TO 4.
CHECK COMBINATION METER
Check the combination meter. Refer to Diagnosis Description.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 5.
NO>>Repair or replace combination meter. Refer to Removal and Installation.
CHECK TERMINAL

Check the combination meter pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
-
Check the parking brake switch pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Replace the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH

Ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect parking brake switch harness connector.
-
Check the continuity between parking brake switch terminal and ground.
Parking brake switch — Condition Continuity Terminal 1 Ground When parking brake switch is pressed Yes When parking brake switch is released No
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Inspection End.
NO>>Replace the parking brake switch. Refer to Exploded View.

LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) system
LATCH system lower anchor locations - bench seat
Your vehicle is equipped with special anchor points that are used with LATCH system compatible child restraints. This system may also be referred to as the ISOFIX or ISOFIX compatible system. With this system, you do not have to use a vehicle seat belt to secure the child restraint unless the combined weight of the child and child restraint exceeds 65 lbs. (29.5 kg). If the combined weight of the child and child restraint is greater than 65 lbs. (29.5 kg), use the vehicle’s seat belt (not the lower anchors) to install the child restraint. Be sure to follow the child restraint manufacturer’s instructions for installation.
