Nissan Murano: Dtc/circuit Diagnosis / P181f Incomp Calibration

DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

When incomplete writing unit characteristics of rear final drive is detected.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Writing unit characteristics are incomplete.

FAIL-SAFE

Front-wheel drive or shifts to 4-wheel drive (rear-wheels still have some driving torque).

PRECONDITIONING

If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously conducted, always place the ignition switch in the OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

GO TO 2.

DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

1. Ignition switch ON.

2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.

Is DTC “P181F” detected?

Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

PERFORM WRITING UNIT CHARACTERISTICS

CONSULT

1. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.

2. Perform writing unit characteristics. Refer to Work Procedure.

3. Ignition switch ON.

4. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.

Is any DTC except “P181F” detected?

Perform trouble diagnosis for detected DTC. Refer to DTC Index.

GO TO 2.

SELECT SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT AGAIN

CONSULT

Select “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” (self-diagnosis) again. Refer to DTC Confirmation Procedure.

Is DTC “P181F” detected?

Replace AWD control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Check AWD control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector. If any items are damaged, repair or replace error-detected parts.
