Malfunction has been detected from AWD actuator relay integrated with AWD control unit, or malfunction related to AWD solenoid has been detected.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Internal malfunction of AWD control unit
Malfunction of AWD solenoid power supply circuit (ground short)
FAIL-SAFE
Front-wheel drive or shifts to 4-wheel drive (rear-wheels still have some driving torque).
PRECONDITIONING
If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously conducted, always place the ignition switch in the OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.
Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
Is DTC “C1205” detected?
YES>>Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
CHECK AWD SOLENOID CIRCUIT (1)
Ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect AWD control unit harness connector.
Check the continuity between AWD control unit harness connector and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES >>GO TO 4.
NO>>GO TO 2.
CHECK AWD SOLENOID
Disconnect AWD solenoid harness connector.
Check the continuity between AWD solenoid harness connector and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>AWD solenoid is malfunctioning. Replace electric controlled coupling. Refer to Removal and Installation.
CHECK AWD SOLENOID CIRCUIT
Check the continuity between AWD control unit harness connector and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 4.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged parts.
CHECK TERMINALS AND HARNESS CONNECTORS
Check AWD control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Check AWD solenoid pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>After connecting each harness connector, perform DTC confirmation procedure again. When DTC “C1205” is detected, replace AWD control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged parts.

LATCH system lower anchor locations - bench seat
Your vehicle is equipped with special anchor points that are used with LATCH system compatible child restraints. This system may also be referred to as the ISOFIX or ISOFIX compatible system. With this system, you do not have to use a vehicle seat belt to secure the child restraint unless the combined weight of the child and child restraint exceeds 65 lbs. (29.5 kg). If the combined weight of the child and child restraint is greater than 65 lbs. (29.5 kg), use the vehicle’s seat belt (not the lower anchors) to install the child restraint. Be sure to follow the child restraint manufacturer’s instructions for installation.
