DESCRIPTION
Brake switch signal is applied to the ECM via the stop lamp switch when the brake pedal is depressed. This signal is used mainly to decrease the engine speed when the Nissan Murano vehicle is driven.
DTC DETECTION LOGIC
A brake switch signal is not sent to ECM for extremely long time while the vehicle is driving.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
Turn ignition switch ON.
Fully depress the brake pedal for at least 5 seconds.
Erase the DTC with CONSULT.
Check 1st trip DTC.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
YES>>Go to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT
Turn ignition switch OFF.
Check the stop lamp when depressing and releasing the brake pedal.

Your vehicle has two types of security systems:
Vehicle security system NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer SystemThe vehicle security system provides visual and audible alarm signals if someone opens the doors, liftgate or the hood when the system is armed. It is not, however, a motion detection type system that activates when a vehicle is moved or when a vibration occurs.
