Nissan Murano: Dtc/circuit Diagnosis / P1805 Brake Switch

Nissan Murano (Z52) 2015-2024 Service Manual / Engine / Engine Control System :: Vq35de / Dtc/circuit Diagnosis / P1805 Brake Switch

DTC Description

DESCRIPTION

Brake switch signal is applied to the ECM via the stop lamp switch when the brake pedal is depressed. This signal is used mainly to decrease the engine speed when the Nissan Murano vehicle is driven.

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

A brake switch signal is not sent to ECM for extremely long time while the vehicle is driving.

Signal (terminal) Stop lamp switch signal
Threshold A brake switch signal is not sent to ECM while the Nissan Murano vehicle is driving
Diagnosis delay time Extremely long time

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors

(Stop lamp switch circuit is open or shorted.)

  • Stop lamp switch

FAIL-SAFE

Engine operating condition in fail-safe mode
Fail safe mode Nissan Murano Vehicle behavior
Brake switch

ECM controls the electric throttle control actuator by regulating the throttle opening to a small range.

Therefore, acceleration will be poor.

When engine is idling Normal
When accelerating Poor acceleration
DTC Confirmation Procedure

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Turn ignition switch ON.

  2. Fully depress the brake pedal for at least 5 seconds.

  3. Erase the DTC with CONSULT.

  4. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is 1st trip DTC detected?

YES>>

Go to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

Your vehicle has two types of security systems:

Vehicle security system NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System

The vehicle security system provides visual and audible alarm signals if someone opens the doors, liftgate or the hood when the system is armed. It is not, however, a motion detection type system that activates when a vehicle is moved or when a vibration occurs.
