CHECK THE ILLUMINATION OF THE HYDRAULIC PUMP ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WARNING LAMP
Check that the hydraulic pump electric power steering warning lamp turns ON when ignition switch ON. Then, hydraulic pump electric power steering warning lamp turns OFF after the engine is started.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Inspection End.
NO>>Perform trouble diagnosis. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT
CONSULT
Ignition switch OFF to ON.
Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "EPS/DAST 3".
Is any DTC detected?
YES>>Check the DTC. Refer to DTC Index.
NO>>GO TO 2.
CHECK HYDRAULIC PUMP ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WARNING LAMP SIGNAL
CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.
Select "WARNING LAMP" in "Data Monitor" mode of "EPS/DAST 3".
Check that the item in “Data Monitor” mode is “On”.
CAUTION:
Engine should not be running for step 3.
Start the engine.
CAUTION:
Never drive the Nissan Murano vehicle during the test.
Check that the item in “Data Monitor” mode is “Off”.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for combination meter power supply circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>GO TO 3.
CHECK TERMINALS AND HARNESS CONNECTORS
Check the power steering control module pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Power steering control module is malfunctioning. Replace power steering oil pump assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair or replace the malfunctioning component.

LATCH system lower anchor locations - bench seat
Your vehicle is equipped with special anchor points that are used with LATCH system compatible child restraints. This system may also be referred to as the ISOFIX or ISOFIX compatible system. With this system, you do not have to use a vehicle seat belt to secure the child restraint unless the combined weight of the child and child restraint exceeds 65 lbs. (29.5 kg). If the combined weight of the child and child restraint is greater than 65 lbs. (29.5 kg), use the vehicle’s seat belt (not the lower anchors) to install the child restraint. Be sure to follow the child restraint manufacturer’s instructions for installation.
