Threshold ICC steering switch ON status is detected continuously.
Diagnosis delay time 10 minutes or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • ICC steering switch circuit

  • ICC steering switch

  • ECM

  • ADAS control unit

FAIL-SAFE

The following systems are canceled:

  • Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode

  • Conventional (fixed speed) cruise control mode

  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection

  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW)

  • Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI)

Confirmation Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

CONSULT

If DTC “C1A42-23” is displayed with DTC “U1000-01”, first diagnose the DTC “U1000-01”.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2 .

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Turn the MAIN switch of ICC system ON.

  3. Perform “All DTC Reading”.

  4. Check if “C1A42-23” is detected as the current malfunction in the “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS”.

Is “C1A42-23” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC “C1A42–23” is displayed with DTC “U1000–01”, first diagnose the DTC “U1000–01”.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK ICC STEERING SWITCH

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check the ICC steering switch. Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Replace the ICC steering switch. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN COMBINATION SWITCH (SPIRAL CABLE) AND ECM

  1. Disconnect the combination switch (spiral cable) connector M41 (with I-LI) or M30 (without I-LI)

  2. Disconnect the ECM connector E32.

  3. Check for continuity between the combination switch (spiral cable) harness connector and ECM harness connector.

  4. Check for continuity between combination switch (spiral cable) harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Repair the harnesses or connectors.

CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH (SPIRAL CABLE)

  1. Disconnect combination switch (spiral cable) connector M143 (with I-LI) or M149 (without I-LI).

  2. Check for continuity between combination switch (spiral cable) connector terminals.

With I-LI

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Replace the combination switch (spiral cable). Refer to Removal and Installation.

PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS OF ECM

  1. Connect the connectors of Combination switch (spiral cable) and ECM.

  2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

  3. Perform “All DTC Reading”.

  4. Check if any DTC is detected in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ENGINE”.

Is any DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform self-diagnosis on the detected DTC and repair or replace the malfunctioning parts. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>

Replace the ADAS control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Component Inspection

CHECK ICC STEERING SWITCH

Check resistance between combination switch (spiral cable) terminals.

With Intelligent Lane Intervention
