Diagnosis condition
  • When engine is running

  • When MAIN switch of ICC system is ON

  • When waiting for approximately 5 minutes or more after shifting the selector lever to “P” position.

Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold A mismatch between a shift position signal transmitted from TCM via CAN communication and an current gear position signal continues
Diagnosis delay time 60 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • TCM

  • Transmission range switch

  • ADAS control unit

FAIL-SAFE

The following systems are canceled:

  • Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode

  • Conventional (fixed speed) cruise control mode

  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection

  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW)

  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

  • Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI)

  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW)

  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

  • Rear Automatic Braking (RAB)

Confirmation Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC “C1A24–97” is displayed with DTC “U1000–01”, first diagnose the DTC “U1000–01”.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK DTC REPRODUCE (1)

CONSULT

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Turn the MAIN switch of ICC system ON.

  3. Wait for approximately 5 minutes or more after shifting the selector lever to “P” position.

  4. Perform “All DTC Reading”.

  5. Check if the “C1A24–97” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS”.

Is “C1A24–97” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 3.

CHECK DTC REPRODUCE (2)

  1. Wait for approximately 5 minutes or more after shifting the selector lever to “N” position.

  2. Perform “All DTC Reading”.

  3. Check if the “C1A24–97” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS”.

Is “C1A24–97” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Description.

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC “C1A24–97” is displayed with DTC “U1000–01”, first diagnose the DTC “U1000–01”.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK TCM DATA MONITOR

CONSULT

Check that “SHIFT IND SIGNAL” operates normally in “DATA MONITOR” of “TRANSMISSION”.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Perform diagnosis for transmission range switch circuit and repair or replace the malfunctioning parts. Refer to DTC Index.

PERFORM TCM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

CONSULT

  1. Perform “All DTC Reading”.

  2. Check if any DTC is detected in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “TRANSMISSION”.

Is any DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis on the detected DTC and repair or replace the malfunctioning parts. DTC Index.

NO>>

Replace the ADAS control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

    The knee air bag is located in the knee bolster, on the driver’s and passenger’s side. All of the information, cautions and warnings in this manual apply and must be followed.
