System Description
The heated steering wheel switch controls the heated steering wheel relay through the A/C auto amp. When the switch is turned on, the relay is energized and the heated steering system will operate. The heated steering system will turn off when the steering wheel temperature reaches approximately 86°F (30°C). Heated steering system operation can also be canceled by pressing the heated steering wheel switch again. If the surface temperature of the steering wheel is below 68°F (20°C), the system will heat the steering wheel and cycle off and on to maintain a temperature above 68°F (20°C). The indicator light will remain on as long as the system is on.
NOTE:
The A/C auto amp. is equipped with a 30-minute timer. After the heated steering wheel switch has been activated for 30 minutes, the system will automatically turn off. If the surface temperature of the steering wheel is above 68°F (20°C) when the switch is turned on, the system will not heat the steering wheel. This is not a malfunction.
