CHECK STEERING WHEEL AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE

Ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect combination switch connector.
-
Check resistance between the terminals of combination switch connector.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN COMBINATION METER AND COMBINATION SWITCH

Disconnect combination meter connector and combination switch connector.
-
Check continuity between combination meter connector and combination switch connector.
Combination meter Combination switch Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal M24 22 M41 4 Yes 23 3 21 2 -
Check continuity between combination meter connector and ground.
Combination meter Ground Continuity Connector Terminal M24 22 — No 23 21
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>Repair or replace harness or connectors.
CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH
Check continuity between combination switch connectors.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN COMBINATION METER AND AUDIO UNIT

Disconnect combination meter connector and audio unit connector.

Check continuity between combination meter connector and audio unit connector.
Combination meter Audio unit Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal M23 49 M122 22 Yes 23 50 42 43 -
Check continuity between combination meter connector and ground.
Combination meter Ground Continuity Connector Terminal M23 49 — No 50
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Replace audio unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair or replace harness or connectors.
Power Supply and Ground Circuit. Audio Unit
Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK FUSE
Check that the following fuses are not blown:

Driver and passenger supplemental knee air bag
Driver’s side
The knee air bag is located in the knee bolster, on the driver’s and passenger’s side. All of the information, cautions and warnings in this manual apply and must be followed. The knee air bag is designed to inflate in higher severity frontal collisions, although it may inflate if the forces in another type of collision are similar to those of a higher severity frontal impact. It may not inflate in certain collisions.
