Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
Remove lower instrument panel LH. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Place fuse box aside.
Disconnect harness connector from parking brake switch.
Remove parking brake pedal assembly nuts and place parking brake pedal assembly aside.
Remove adjusting nut from parking brake pedal.
Remove parking brake switch.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:

Replace the parking brake switch if it has been dropped or sustained an impact.

Do not reuse the adjusting nut.
Adjust the parking brake cable if necessary. Refer to Inspection and Adjustment.
Removal and Installation
REMOVALRemove center console assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Loosen adjusting nut. Refer to Exploded View.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove parking brake front cable...

Other information:
The three-way catalyst is an emission control
device installed in the exhaust system.
Exhaust gases in the three-way catalyst
are burned at high temperatures to help
reduce pollutants.

The exhaust gas and the exhaust system
are very hot...
Inspection
TRANSFER OIL LEAKSCheck that transfer oil is not leaking from transfer assembly or around it.TRANSFER OIL LEVELCAUTION:
Do not start engine while checking transfer oil level.
Remove filler plug (1) and gasket.

Transfer oil level (A) should be level with bottom of filler plug hole...
