POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Signal plate

  • Crankshaft position sensor

  • Harness or connectors (Crankshaft position sensor circuit is open or shorted.)

DTC Confirmation Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P0315 is displayed with DTC P0335, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P0335.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. DTC Index.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

  2. Drive Nissan Murano vehicle at 80 km/h (50 MPH), with selecting suitable gear.

    NOTE:

    Always keep safe driving to the first priority.

  3. Release accelerator pedal completely to decelerate the Nissan Murano vehicle.

    NOTE:

    Always keep safe driving to the first priority.

  4. Repeat the step 2 and 3 until the integrated deceleration time to be 30 seconds.

  5. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is 1st trip DTC detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P0315 is displayed with DTC P0335, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P0335.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK GEAR TOOTH

Visually check for chipping signal plate gear tooth.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

Replace the signal plate. Refer to Exploded View.
