Component Function Check

CHECK BACK-UP LAMP OPERATION

  1. Start the engine.

  2. With operating the CVT shift selector, check that the back-up lamp is turned ON.

    CVT shift selector position: Reverse : Back-up lamp ON
    CVT shift selector position: Other than above : Back-up lamp OFF

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Back-up lamp circuit is normal.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK BACK-UP LAMP OUTPUT VOLTAGE

  1. Disconnect rear combination lamp LH (back door side) connector and rear combination lamp RH (back door side) connector.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Check the voltage between rear combination lamp LH (back door side) harness connector, rear combination lamp RH (back door side) harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK BACK-UP LAMP POWER SUPPLY (SHORT) CIRCUIT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect BCM connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

    BCM Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    M20 89 Ground No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK BACK-UP LAMP POWER SUPPLY (OPEN) CIRCUIT

Check continuity between rear combination lamp LH (back door side) harness connector, rear combination lamp RH (back door side) harness connector and BCM harness connector..

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK BACK-UP LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between rear combination lamp LH (back door side) harness connector, rear combination lamp RH (back door side) harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace corresponding rear combination lamp (back door side). Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

    Your vehicle is equipped with special anchor points that are used with LATCH system compatible child restraints. This system may also be referred to as the ISOFIX or ISOFIX compatible system.
