DTC Description

NOTE:

The Signal Tech II Tool [- (J-50190)] can be used to perform the following functions: Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.

  • Check Intelligent Key relative signal strength.

  • Confirm Nissan Murano vehicle Intelligent Key antenna signal strength.

Diagnosis condition When ignition switch is ON.

Threshold An excessive high or low voltage from outside key antenna RH is sent to BCM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • BCM

  • Outside key antenna (RH)

  • Harness or connector [Outside key antenna (RH) circuit is open or shorted.]

FAIL-SAFE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “BCM”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

Diagnosis Procedure

NOTE:

The Signal Tech II Tool [- (J-50190)] can be used to perform the following functions: Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.

  • Check Intelligent Key relative signal strength.

  • Confirm Nissan Murano vehicle Intelligent Key antenna signal strength.

CHECK OUTSIDE KEY ANTENNA INPUT SIGNAL 1

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check signal between BCM harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

    M80 114 Ground When the passenger door request switch is operated with ignition switch OFF. When Intelligent Key is in the antenna detection area. (The distance between Intelligent Key and antenna: 80 cm or less.)

    When Intelligent Key is not in the antenna detection area. (The distance between Intelligent Key and antenna: Approx. 2 m.)

    115 Ground When the passenger door request switch is operated with ignition switch OFF. When Intelligent Key is in the antenna detection area. (The distance between Intelligent Key and antenna: 80 cm or less.)

    When Intelligent Key is not in the antenna detection area. (The distance between Intelligent Key and antenna: Approx. 2 m.)

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK OUTSIDE KEY ANTENNA CIRCUIT

  1. Disconnect BCM connector and outside key antenna (RH) connector.

  2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and outside key antenna (RH) harness connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK OUTSIDE KEY ANTENNA INPUT SIGNAL 2

  1. Replace outside key antenna (RH). (New antenna or other antenna)

  2. Connect BCM connector and outside key antenna (RH) connector.

  3. Check signal between BCM harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

    The knee air bag is located in the knee bolster, on the driver’s and passenger’s side. All of the information, cautions and warnings in this manual apply and must be followed.
