DTC Description

BCM performs ID verification between BCM and dongle unit.

When verification result is OK, BCM permits cranking.

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

NOTE:

• If DTC B2196 is displayed with DTC U1000, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC U1000. Refer to DTC Description.

• If DTC B2196 is displayed with DTC U1010, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC U1010. Refer to DTC Description.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Dongle unit

• Harness or connector

  (Dongle unit circuit is open or shorted.)

FAIL-SAFE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

1. Ignition switch ON.

2. Select “Self Diagnosis Result” mode of “BCM”.

3. Check DTC.

Is the DTC detected?

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Inspection End.

PERFORM INITIALIZATION

1. Perform initialization of BCM and reregistration of all Intelligent Keys. Refer to Work Procedure.

2. Start the engine.

Does the engine start?

Inspection End.

GO TO 2.

CHECK DONGLE UNIT CIRCUIT

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect BCM connector and dongle unit connector.

3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and dongle unit harness connector.

   BCM		Dongle unit		Continuity
   Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
   M19	52	M29	1	Yes

4. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

   BCM		Ground	Continuity
   Connector	Terminal
   M19	52		No

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 3.

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK DONGLE UNIT GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between dongle unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

Replace dongle unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Repair or replace harness.
