Component Function Check

DATA MONITOR

CONSULT

  1. Select “TILT SW-UP”, “TILT SW-DOWN” in “Data Monitor” mode of “AUTO DRIVE POS.”.

  2. Check that the function operates normally according to the following conditions:

    Monitor item Condition Status
    TILT SW-UP Tilt switch (up) Operate ON
    Release OFF
    TILT SW-DOWN Tilt switch (down) Operate ON
    Release OFF

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Perform diagnosis procedure. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK TILT SWITCH SIGNAL

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect ADP steering switch (tilt switch).

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Check voltage between ADP steering switch harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK TILT SWITCH CIRCUIT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect automatic drive positioner control unit.

  3. Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ADP steering switch harness connector.

  4. Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace automatic drive positioner unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK TILT SWITCH

Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Replace ADP steering switch (tilt switch). Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to Intermittent Incident.

Inspection End.

CHECK TILT SWITCH

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect ADP steering switch (tilt switch).

  3. Check continuity between ADP steering switch terminals.

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>
