Inspection and Adjustment

INSTALLATION

Adjust parking brake pedal stroke. Refer to Inspection and Adjustment.

Perform parking brake break-in (drag on) operation by driving Nissan Murano vehicle under the following conditions:

  • Drive forward

  • Vehicle speed: Approx. 40 km/h (25 MPH) set (constant and forward)

  • Parking brake operating force: Approx. 140 +49, -0 N (14.3 +5, -0 kg-f, 31.5 +11, -0 lb-f)

  • Time: Approx. 5 +5, -0 seconds.

CAUTION:

To prevent lining from getting too hot, allow a cool off period of approximately 5 minutes after every break-in operation.

After the break-in procedure, check parking pedal stroke of parking brake.

CAUTION:

If it is out of the specification, adjust again. Refer to Inspection and Adjustment.

ADJUSTMENT AFTER INSTALLATION

Adjust the parking brake pedal stroke. Refer to Inspection and Adjustment.

Rotate the disc brake rotor with the parking brake pedal released and check that there is no drag.

CAUTION:

If any drag is found, verify the parking brake components are installed and adjusted correctly.

    Driver’s side

    The knee air bag is located in the knee bolster, on the driver’s and passenger’s side. All of the information, cautions and warnings in this manual apply and must be followed. The knee air bag is designed to inflate in higher severity frontal collisions, although it may inflate if the forces in another type of collision are similar to those of a higher severity frontal impact. It may not inflate in certain collisions.
