Component Function Check

CHECK FUNCTION

CONSULT

  1. Select “REQ SW-DR” or “REQ SW-AS” in “Data Monitor” mode of “BCM(INTELLIGENT KEY)”.

  2. Check that the function operates normally according to the following conditions:

Monitor Item Condition Status
REQ SW -DR LH door request switch Pressed ON
Released OFF
REQ SW -AS RH door request switch Pressed ON
Released OFF

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Front door request switch is OK.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DOOR REQUEST SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect malfunctioning front door request switch connector.

  3. Check signal between malfunctioning front door request switch harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK DOOR REQUEST SWITCH CIRCUIT

  1. Disconnect BCM connector.

  2. Check continuity between malfunctioning front door request switch harness connector and BCM harness connector.

  3. Check continuity between malfunctioning front door request switch harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK DOOR REQUEST SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between malfunctioning front door request switch harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK DOOR REQUEST SWITCH

Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Replace malfunctioning front outside handle assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation (Driver side) or Removal and Installation (Passenger side).

CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to Intermittent Incident.

Inspection End.

CHECK DOOR REQUEST SWITCH

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect front door request switch connector.

  3. Check continuity between front door request switch terminals.

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Replace malfunctioning front door request switch. Refer to Removal and Installation (Driver side) or Removal and Installation (Passenger side).
