Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK EOT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY

  1. Disconnect engine oil temperature (EOT) sensor harness connector.

  2. Turn ignition switch ON.

  3. Check the voltage between EOT sensor harness connector and ground.

    EOT sensor Ground Voltage
    Connector Terminal
    F68 3 Ground Approx. 5 V

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

CHECK EOT SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.

  3. Check the continuity between EOT sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

    EOT sensor ECM Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    F68 1 F78 15 Existed
  4. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

CHECK ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Check engine oil temperature sensor. Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

Replace engine oil temperature sensor. Refer to Component Parts Location.

Component Inspection

CHECK ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect engine oil temperature sensor harness connector.

  3. Remove engine oil temperature sensor. Refer to Component Parts Location.

  4. Check resistance between engine oil temperature sensor terminals by heating with hot water as shown in the figure.

    Terminals Condition Resistance (kΩ)
    3 and 1 Temperature [°C (°F)] 20 (68) 2.37 - 2.63
    50 (122) 0.68 - 1.00
    90 (194) 0.236 - 0.260

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

Replace engine oil temperature sensor. Refer to Component Parts Location.

LATCH system lower anchor locations - bench seat

Your vehicle is equipped with special anchor points that are used with LATCH system compatible child restraints. This system may also be referred to as the ISOFIX or ISOFIX compatible system. With this system, you do not have to use a vehicle seat belt to secure the child restraint unless the combined weight of the child and child restraint exceeds 65 lbs. (29.5 kg). If the combined weight of the child and child restraint is greater than 65 lbs. (29.5 kg), use the vehicle’s seat belt (not the lower anchors) to install the child restraint. Be sure to follow the child restraint manufacturer’s instructions for installation.
