Component Function Check

CHECK FUNCTION

CONSULT

  1. Select "Nissan Murano Vehicle SECURITY HORN" in "Active Test" mode of "BCM(THEFT ALM)".

  2. Check the horn operation.

    Test item Description
    Nissan Murano Vehicle SECURITY HORN ON Horn Sounds (for 0.5 sec)

Is the operation normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK HORN FUNCTION

Check that horns function properly using horn switch.

Do horns sound?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Check horn circuit. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

CHECK HORN CONTROL CIRCUIT

  1. Disconnect horn relay connector.

  2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.

  3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and horn relay harness connector.

    E119 22 H-1 (horn relay 1) 1 Yes
    23 E58 (horn relay 2)
  4. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

    IPDM E/R Ground Continuity

    E119 22 No
    23

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK HORN CIRCUIT

  1. Disconnect horn connector.

  2. Check continuity between horn relay harness connector and horn harness connector.

    H-1 (horn relay 1) 3 E222 (horn [low]) 1 Yes
    E58 (horn relay 2) E232 (horn [high])
  3. Check continuity between horn relay harness connector and ground.

    Horn relay Ground Continuity

    H-1 (horn relay 1) 3 No
    E58 (horn relay 2)

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK HORN RELAY

Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace malfunctioning horn. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Replace malfunctioning horn relay.

Component Inspection

CHECK HORN RELAY

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect horn relay connector.

  3. Check voltage between horn relay terminal and ground under the following conditions:

No current supply No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Replace horn relay.

    Hood Switch

    Component Function Check CHECK FUNCTION CONSULT Select “HOOD SW” and “HOOD SW 2” in “Data Monitor” mode of “IPDM E/R”.
