POSSIBLE CAUSE
Internal malfunction of AWD control unit
FAIL-SAFE
Front-wheel drive or shifts to 4-wheel drive (rear-wheels still have some driving torque).
PRECONDITIONING
If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously conducted, always place the ignition switch in the OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.
Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
Is DTC “C1201” detected?
YES>>Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
SELECT SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT
CONSULT
Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
Ignition switch OFF, and then wait 10 seconds or more.
Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
Is DTC “C1201” detected?
YES>>Replace AWD control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Check AWD control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector. If any items are damaged, repair or replace error-detected parts.

The knee air bag is located in the knee bolster, on the driver’s and passenger’s side. All of the information, cautions and warnings in this manual apply and must be followed. The knee air bag is designed to inflate in higher severity frontal collisions, although it may inflate if the forces in another type of collision are similar to those of a higher severity frontal impact. It may not inflate in certain collisions.
