CHECK CAN DIAGNOSIS
Check the CAN diagnosis results from CONSULT to see that the Nissan Murano vehicle CAN communication circuit and ITS CAN communication circuit have no malfunction.
Are the CAN communication circuits normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Check and repair the Nissan Murano vehicle CAN communication circuit and/or ITS CAN communication circuit.
CONNECTOR INSPECTION
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.
Disconnect all the control unit connectors on chassis CAN communication circuit.
Check terminals and connectors for damage, bend and loose connection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>Repair the terminal and connector.
CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (OPEN CIRCUIT)
Check the continuity between the ADAS control unit harness connector and lane camera unit harness connector.

| Connector No. | Terminal No. | Connector No. | Terminal No. | |
| M182 | 18 | R23 | 5 | Existed |
| 6 | 6 | Existed | ||
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 4.
NO>>Check the harness and repair the root cause.
CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (OPEN CIRCUIT)
Check the continuity between the lane camera unit harness connector and CAN terminator (chassis CAN communication).
| Lane camera unit harness connector | CAN terminator (Chassis CAN communication) | Continuity | ||
| Connector No. | Terminal No. | Connector No. | Terminal No. | |
| R23 | 5 | M21 | 3 | Existed |
| 6 | 2 | Existed | ||
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 5.
NO>>Check the harness and repair the root cause.
CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (SHORT CIRCUIT)
Check the continuity between the ADAS control unit harness connector and the ground.
| ADAS control unit harness connector | Ground | Continuity | |
| Connector No. | Terminal No. | ||
| M182 | 18 | Not existed | |
| 6 | Not existed | ||
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 6.
NO>>Check the harness and repair the root cause.
CHECK CAN TERMINATOR CIRCUIT
Check the continuity between the CAN terminator (Chassis CAN communication) terminals.
| CAN terminator (Chassis CAN communication) | Resistance (Ω) | ||
| Connector No. | Terminal No. | ||
| M21 | 3 | 2 | Approx. 108 – 132 |
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 7.
NO>>Replace the main harness.
CHECK ADAS CONTROL UNIT TERMINATION CIRCUIT
Remove the ADAS control unit.
Check the resistance between the ADAS control unit terminals.
| ADAS control unit | Resistance (Ω) | |
| Terminal No. | ||
| 18 | 6 | Approx. 108 – 132 |
Is the measurement value within the specification?
YES>>GO TO 8.
NO>>Replace the ADAS control unit.
CHECK SYMPTOM
Connect all the connectors. Check if the symptoms described in the “Symptom (Results from interview with customer)” are reproduced.
Inspection result
Reproduced>>GO TO 9.
NO>>Start the diagnosis again. Follow the trouble diagnosis procedure when past error is detected.
CHECK CONTROL UNIT REPRODUCTION
Perform the reproduction test as per the following procedure for each control unit.
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.
Disconnect one of the control unit connectors of chassis CAN communication circuit.
NOTE:
ADAS control unit has a termination circuit. Check other control units first.
Connect the battery cable to the negative terminal. Check if the symptoms described in the “Symptom (Results from interview with customer)” are reproduced.
NOTE:
Although control unit-related error symptoms occur, do not confuse them with other symptoms.
Inspection result
Reproduced>>Connect the connector. Check other control units as per the above procedure.
NO>>Replace the control unit whose connector was disconnected.

The knee air bag is located in the knee bolster, on the driver’s and passenger’s side. All of the information, cautions and warnings in this manual apply and must be followed. The knee air bag is designed to inflate in higher severity frontal collisions, although it may inflate if the forces in another type of collision are similar to those of a higher severity frontal impact. It may not inflate in certain collisions.
